Zoom has added an exciting new color California 420 to their lineup. California 420 features a dark (almost black) top with red flake and a watemelon red bottom.
Zoom pro staffer Gerald Swindle has been fishing with this color for awhile now and loves it’s versatility.
“I normally have colors that I call ‘clear water’ or ‘dirty water” colors,” said Swindle. “But California 420 is one of the very few colors I have ever used that seems to be effective in both. It’s not a color you look at and really say ‘wow,’ but I have caught fish using this color from Clearlake, California to Lake Wheeler, Alabama to Lake Toho, Florida.
“This color is so versatile that it really has become a confidence color for me. I feel like no matter where our next tournament is, I can tie on this color and feel confident that I’m gonna catch fish.”

Currently, California 420 is available only in the Swimmin’ Super Fluke and Swimmin’ Super Fluke Jr. It will become available in more lures in the next few months.

Zoom is my favorite go to bait sense the Co. has been started and there is only good I can say about it.I have tried many soft lures in the past and nothing pleases me more than Zoom.My arsenal of soft lures is zoom. Keep making winners. Bob Perry
When will the new color be available and what products will be offered in this color?
i have used the houdini 6″ lizard and to great success on ky lake when it is sunny and water slightly stained (a great bass catching color) one of my go to baits now thank you zoom
When will Bass Pro have this color in stock? Already looking forward to this color catching the big ones…..
i only use soft bait lures for walleye and bass species/ hybrids. i use banjo minnows like crazy, but the only other soft bait i would use that has brought me any success are zoom products. the grubs and tab tail grubs are my favorite crank bait and the flukes are good jerk bait. the swimmin super flukes can be used for trolling or crank bait, and i have had success with a weedless jerk bait set up on these also. zoom is a superior product with the way they salt their products, it keeps the fish coming back for more i swear by it! not to mention the price for these things is good as well.
WOW i sure hope that color will be available in the super fluke and magnum fluke cant wait to get my hands on some of those
I love the super fluke ,but I think you should add a bluegill color and a perch color .just a thought ,I know I’ll be purchasing them if they come out .matter of fact let me know and I’ll buy 10 pls. Of each.
I think CA 420 will be a welcome addition to the entire Zoom Fluke family – all sizes. I would love to try some pre-production flukes on salt water trout here in Homosassa, FL. Baby Bass and Watermelon Seed have produced very nice catches for me on a regular basis.
Why isnt it available in the flukes??
ZOOM PLASTICS ARE SOFT YET DURABLE. THEY ARE MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE PLASTIC BAIT (WORMS, LIZARDS, SUPER CHUNKS & SPINNERBAIT TRAILERS). THIS CALIFORNIA 420 LOOKS LIKE “AVOCADO” SPECIAL RUN COLOR. I USE THE AVOCADO COLOR IN SUPER CHUNK FOR MY JIG TRAILER ALOT.
