Two ZOOM Pros Duking It Out for Angler of the Year!

The Bassmaster Elite Series had a whirlwind past few weeks with back to back tournaments. While we hope all of our Zoom Pros find the fish, we can’t help focusing a bit more on Brandon Palaniuk and Casey Ashley this year! Back in June, after Lake Dardanelle, Brandon was in 3rd and Casey was in 4th for Angler of the Year. That seemed to light a fire for them both heading into tournament #7 on the St Lawrence River. Brandon finished in 3rd and Casey in 8th. This also gave Casey the boost in points to take over the lead in the AOY race.

Without a break, the anglers hopped over to Lake Champlain the following week for Tournament #8. Brandon had another astounding week, finishing in 3rd again! Casey unfortunately took a little stumble and finished in 35th. This allowed Brandon to take back over the top spot for AOY while Casey dropped forty points below him and is now tied for 2nd with Jacob Wheeler.

Luckily everyone gets to take a little break and can reset before Tournament #9 on Lake St Clair. It’s going to a photo finish! In the meantime, here are some great pics of the ZOOM Pros at St Lawrence and Lake Champlain.

  1. I will never be a pro but I do fish ABA Division 9 PA and some club tournaments. Soft plastics are my confidence baits and Zoom baits have put more fish in my live well than any bait. It is not surprising to me that Zoom Pros do well. I wish them luck not only this year but in the future
